"Our Dog Became Vegan – and All Her Health Issues Went Away"

Dogs Are Omnivores

Wait…you might say, aren’t dogs supposed to eat meat?

Is it okay for a dog to be vegan/plant-based? YES, it is!

Dogs are omnivores. As long as they get the nutrients they need, both plant-based and meat-based diets are options. And just like humans, many dogs fare better on a plant-based diet.

Meet Maddie

Our Maddie is a happy and healthy ten-pound Papillon dog. At 14, she’s doing better than many of her doggie friends her age who unfortunately suffer from health issues.

Since she became vegan one and a half years ago, we have watched her health improve remarkably.

From Health Woes to Health Glow

Maddie used to be my mom's dog, and when we brought her home in 2023, she was dealing with a lot of health problems: skin allergies, constipation, skittishness, and more. She was constantly scratching and taking medication to try and ease her discomfort.

After learning that a vegan diet was perfectly safe for dogs, I researched to find the healthiest and yummiest vegan dog food out there, and found it! And it has made all the difference in Maddie’s health and well-being.

The Proof is in Maddie’s Health

Before her vegan diet, Maddie had frequent vet visits. Now, she’s been to the vet zero times since switching to plant-based food. She’s healthier, and we save thousands in vet visits and medical treatments.

Since switching to a vegan diet, Maddie has experienced:

  • no allergies, scratching, or skin problems
  • no constipation – she goes easily, regularly, and frequently (3-5 times per day)
  • little to no skittishness; she is calmer
  • her breath smells good (and the food itself smells great and is pleasant to prepare)
  • her poops are almost odorless; also, they are healthy and well-formed, making them very easy to pick up after she does her business

Pet food usually includes not only chicken, fish, and other animals, but also roadkill, toxic fillers, and known carcinogens in the food. We’ve seen Maddie thrive as a result of her new diet, and we feel good knowing fewer animals are killed for Maddie’s food, and fewer toxins are going into the environment.

Maddie’s thriving on her new diet, and we’re so happy to see her healthy and energetic.
