CheckUp Kit for Dogs

Regular price $26.85

CheckUp provides a quick, simple, and reliable testing method to observe the general wellness of dogs through at-home urine testing.

Plant-based diets tend to make the urine more alkaline and this must be monitored.
Urine pH (acidity indicator) of dogs must be kept in the range of 6 - 7. Keeping pH of the urine in the normal range helps avoiding urinary health problems.

We recommend measuring the pH of urine prior to the transition to a plant-based diet (to establish the baseline for comparison) and then 1 month after the transition (to see what effect the new diet has on the pH).

CheckUp is ideal for those who want to monitor their dog’s health in between visits to the clinic, or for those who require regular monitoring through urine collection as recommended by a veterinarian.

CheckUp can detect the most common issues among domestic dogs including high glucose levelskidney failureurinary tract infection (UTI), and blood in the urine. By using CheckUp, you can detect a health condition in time to prevent health deterioration and improve your dog’s lifespan.

 COMPLIANCE AND COMFORT:

 INSIDE THE KIT:

  • 1 telescopic pole with a detached ring
  • 1 disposable cup
  • 2 testing strips
  • 1 sample collection vial
  • 1 sample collection pipette

HOW TO USE:

Screw the metal ring to the pole and extend it, place the cup in the ring, reach with the pole to catch a sample while the dog is urinating, bring home for testing. Fill the vial at 3/4 way using the pipette, dip the strip into the vial so all squares are submerged. Place the strip quickly next to the Results card and follow the instructions bellow the table. If necessary, cap the vial and keep refrigerated. If any of the tests is positive, take the sample to your vet for further testing.

RECOMMENDATION:

We recommend measuring the pH of urine prior to the transition to a plant-based diet (to establish the baseline for comparison) and then 1 month after the transition (to see what effect the new diet has on the pH).

We also recommend checking the pH of urine every 2-3 months after that.
