CheckUp Kit for Cats

Regular price $32.84

CheckUp provides a quick, simple, and reliable testing method to observe the general wellness of cats through at-home urine testing.

Plant-based diets tend to make the urine more alkaline and this must be monitored.
Urine pH must be kept in the range of 6.0 - 6.5 to avoid formation of crystals and painful urinary tract obstruction.

We recommend measuring the pH of urine prior to the transition to a plant-based diet (to establish the baseline for comparison) and then 1 month after the transition (to see what effect the new diet has on the pH).

In addition to monitoring the pH of urine, CheckUp can detect the most common issues among domestic cats including high glucose levelskidney failureurinary tract infection (UTI), and blood in the urine. By using CheckUp, you can detect a health condition in time to prevent health deterioration and improve your cat’s lifespan.

 COMPLIANCE FROM CATS:

Sand is the natural environment for cats, allowing our product to yield quick compliance. The hydrophobic sand feels and smells just like regular sand, so cats are very cooperative when sample collection is required.

 INSIDE THE KIT:

  • 2 identical testing strips
  • 1 sample collection vial
  • 1 sample collection pipette
  • 2 lbs (900 g) hydrophobic litter

HOW TO USE:

Pour all hydrophobic litter into a clean and empty litter box. Allow your cat to urinate freely on the hydrophobic litter. Collect urine from the top of the sand with the pipette. Fill the vial at least 3/4 way using the pipette. Simply dip the strip into the vial and make sure all squares are submerged. Quickly place the strip next to the Results card and follow the instructions underneath the table. If necessary, close the vial with the cap and keep in the refridgerator. If the test shows any positive result, take the sample to your vet for further testing.

RECOMMENDATION:

We recommend measuring the pH of urine prior to the transition to a plant-based diet (to establish the baseline for comparison) and then 1 month after the transition (to see what effect the new diet has on the pH).

We also recommend checking the pH of urine every 2-3 months after that.
