VegePup™ is a supplement used by caretakers to cook nutritionally complete homemade meals for puppies and pregnant and lactating dogs.

Puppies and pregnant or lactating dogs need roughly 30% protein in their diet and require some nutrient levels to be higher than those for an adult dog. For this reason, the VegePup™ supplement and recipes should be used for puppies under 10 to 12 months of age and pregnant or lactating dogs. VegePup™ has a higher calcium and phosphorous level than Vegedog™ and has threonine added to enhance the amino acid profile of the diet. The supplement is safe for large-breed puppies, too.

Use the kibble recipe (in the Vegepup instructions) to make delicious kibble. Cut kibble pieces larger or smaller according to the size of your dog. You can certainly have your recipes, but do ensure you add enough Vegepup™ (see amounts below).

Duration

The amount varies a great deal depending on age, weight, recipe ingredients, and more.

  1. Find out how many calories your puppy needs using this calorie calculator
  2. If you follow recipes, for every 1000 calories of homemade food, use 16 grams of Vegepup
  3. Divide 400g (bottle weight) by your daily usage to estimate how long it lasts

Example:

  • If your puppy eats 500 calories/day, you’d need 8g of Vegepup daily, so the 400g bottle would last ~50 days.
  • If your puppy eats 1500 calories/day, you’d need 24g daily, so the 400g bottle would last ~16.5 days.
