How Juliette became a vegan rottweiler

Juliette is a really special dog. She has been a part of Mikhail's family for the past 12 years. When Mikhail, who is a vegan himself, first learned about plant-based pet food and decided to bring Evolution Diet brand to Canada, Juliette was there to taste test it all. Below is Mikhail's story about this lovely dog.

Ever since she was a puppy, Juliette has been an inquisitive dog, especially when it comes to food! Our family comes from Russia, where it is common to feed pets food scraps, so Juliette got to try most of the things we eat, fruits and vegetables included. Her favorite treat is having a bite of our traditional potato salad, which is served with every holiday meal.

When I first learned about plant-based pet food, it was really important for me to know that it is healthy for Juliette and that she likes eating it. She has now been vegan for 3 years, and I'm happy to say that she is doing better than ever. Just look at how great she looks, leading a few of her friends during a recent walk!

Most Rottweilers live an average of 10-12 years, but Juliette is showing no sings of slowing down, and is as playful and mischievous as ever. In fact, ever since she became a vegan rottweiler, it is as if she found the dog version of a 'youth fountain': her coat is thicker and and silkier, her breath improved and doesn't smell as with the meat-based diet before. Of course, I also make sure to check her blood and urine with the vet, and they are perfectly healthy.

The plant-based food she eats is 100% complete and meets all of her nutritional needs. She has been primarily on Evolution Diet Gourmet Fondue, which contains 30% plant-based protein, 14% vegetable oil, and all of the essential nutrients including Taurine, Methionine, Lysine, vitamin B12 and many others.  I also try to change up her meals by giving her canned Evolution Diet, and Ami Dog now that we have this brand too. Unlike the meat-based food, plant-based food does not contain any antibiotics, growth hormones, or sick and diseased animals. I'm sure this is a big part of why she is doing so well!

I want to make sure that our company sells only the best products, and seeing Juliette happy and healthy gives me 100% confidence in the food we bring to vecado.ca clients. Juliette gets to play outside with other dogs all the time. Her daily walks are 1-2 hours, and she easily keeps up with the younger 4-5 years old dogs. People are always surprised when they find out her age.

I will definitely continue feeding her plant-based food. It makes me very happy to know that I am using pet food that is cruelty-free, environmentally-friendly and healthy for Juliette!
